The data controller responsible for processing your personal data on kiez.fyi is:

When you use kiez.fyi, we collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — your email address and display name, managed by our authentication provider (Clerk).
• Pinned locations — the places you choose to pin on the map, including their coordinates, names, and travel-time preferences.
• Saved zones — computed neighborhood zones you explicitly save.

• We do not track your browsing behavior across other websites.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not use analytics trackers or fingerprinting.

Your data is used solely to:

• Compute isochrone intersections and find your ideal neighborhood.
• Save and restore your zones between sessions.
• Surface relevant property listings within your computed zone.

• Account, pins, and saved zones — Art. 6(1)(b): processing is necessary to perform the service you requested.
• Authentication via Clerk — Art. 6(1)(b): required to give you a signed-in session.
• Abuse prevention and security logs — Art. 6(1)(f): our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and free of abuse. You can object at any time (see Your rights).

• Account data — kept for as long as your account exists; removed when you delete your account.
• Saved zones and pins — kept until you delete them individually, or until your account is deleted.
• Unnamed draft zones — auto-deleted after 7 days of inactivity.
• Server request logs — retained for up to 14 days for diagnostics and abuse prevention, then discarded.

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• Access (Art. 15) — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification (Art. 16) — have inaccurate data corrected.
• Erasure (Art. 17) — have your data deleted. Use Settings → Delete Account for the self-service path.
• Restriction (Art. 18) — have processing limited while a dispute is resolved.
• Portability (Art. 20) — receive your pins and zones in a machine-readable format.
• Objection (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@kiez.fyi. We will respond within one month (Art. 12(3)).

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence, place of work, or where you believe an infringement occurred. For Berlin-based processing the competent authority is:

Your data is stored securely on our servers. Authentication is handled by Clerk, which stores your credentials separately under their own privacy policy.

You can delete your saved zones at any time from within the app. To delete your account entirely, visit Settings and use Delete Account — all associated data is removed immediately. If you cannot sign in, email privacy@kiez.fyi and we will remove your data.
